David B. Nash was named the Founding Dean of the Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH) which caps a 25-year tenure on the faculty of Thomas Jefferson University. He is also the Dr. Raymond C. and Doris N. Grandon Professor of Health Policy and a board-certified internist.
Dr. Nash is a principal faculty member for quality of care programming for the American Association for Physician Leadership and leads their academic joint venture with JCPH. He serves on the NQF Task Force on Improving Population Health and the John M. Eisenberg Award Committee for The Joint Commission. He is also a founding member of the AAMC-IQ Steering Committee. Dr. Nash was recently appointed to the Board of the Pharmaceutical Quality Alliance (PQA) in Washington, DC. Dr. Nash serves on multiple boards and is currently Editor-in-Chief of American Journal of Medical Quality, Population Health Management, P&T, and American Health and Drug Benefits.

He authored “Mistreated: Why We think We’re Getting Good Healthcare—And Why We’re Usually Wrong” a Washington Post bestseller that offers a roadmap for transforming American healthcare. As a regular contributor to Forbes, Pearl covers the business of healthcare and the culture of medicine and is the host of a new podcast called “Fixing Healthcare”. Dr. Pearl served as chairman of the Council of Accountable Physician Practices (CAPP), and participated in the Bipartisan Congressional Task Force on Delivery System Reform and Health IT.

Libby’s 2013-14 series, “Paying Till It Hurts,” won many prizes for both health reporting and its creative use of digital tools. Her book, “An American Sickness: How Healthcare Became Big Business and How You Can Take It Back” (Penguin Random House, 2017), was a New York Times best-seller and a Washington Post notable book of the year. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Medical School and briefly practiced medicine in a New York City emergency room before converting to journalism.

Gary A. Puckrein, PhD, is President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Minority Quality Forum. He also serves as Executive Director of the Alliance of Minority Medical Associations (a collaborative effort of the Asian and Pacific Physicians’ Association, the Association of American Indian Physicians, the Interamerican College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the National Medical Association). In 1989 Dr. Puckrein founded the Forum’s predecessor organization, the National Minority Health Month Foundation, to help communities and policy makers eliminate the disproportionate burden of premature death and preventable illness in special populations through the use of evidence-based, data-driven initiatives.
