David B. Nash was named the Founding Dean of the Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH) which caps a 25-year tenure on the faculty of Thomas Jefferson University. He is also the Dr. Raymond C. and Doris N. Grandon Professor of Health Policy and a board-certified internist.
Dr. Nash is a principal faculty member for quality of care programming for the American Association for Physician Leadership and leads their academic joint venture with JCPH. He serves on the NQF Task Force on Improving Population Health and the John M. Eisenberg Award Committee for The Joint Commission. He is also a founding member of the AAMC-IQ Steering Committee. Dr. Nash was recently appointed to the Board of the Pharmaceutical Quality Alliance (PQA) in Washington, DC. Dr. Nash serves on multiple boards and is currently Editor-in-Chief of American Journal of Medical Quality, Population Health Management, P&T, and American Health and Drug Benefits.

Alan Cohn began his career in the healthcare industry while studying at the University of Baltimore School of Law. During this time, he took a position in the Health Care Financing Administration’s Office of the Attorney Advisor. He later joined and quickly grew his family’s small healthcare business which became Spectera and was sold to United Health Care.
Mr. Cohn grew and sold multiple businesses, including a mail service pharmacy, Avesis, an almost bankrupt provider of discount hearing, vision, and dental plans, and companies in the health care software and physician pharmacy dispensing areas.
He became president and CEO of Avesis and incubated and grew its new subsidiary, AbsoluteCARE. Alan sold Avesis but continues to head AbsoluteCARE, an Ambulatory ICU Medical Center organization. He ensures the effective delivery of holistic, intensive patient-centered primary-care services to individuals who are persistently high cost with complex social, behavioral and multiple chronic illnesses.

Dr. Mitch Kaminski joined the Jefferson College of Population Health in August, 2018 as Program Director for Population Health. He had most recently served as Chief Clinical Officer for the Delaware Valley ACO. He is a family physician who has practiced, taught medical students and residents, and led quality initiatives and practice innovations during his career. Dr. Kaminski has also served as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award examiner which helped to fuel his passion for system transformation in the pursuit of excellence. Prior to joining DVACO, Dr. Kaminski helped to develop the AtlantiCare Physician Group in southeastern New Jersey as Medical Director, and served as Chief Medical Officer of the AtlantiCare Health Solutions ACO. He was the Chairman of Family Medicine at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center before joining AtlantiCare, and has been on the medical school faculties of Temple University and the University of Maryland.

Dr. Lawton Robert Burns is the Chair of the Health Care Management Department, the James Joo-Jin Kim Professor, a Professor of Health Care Management, and a Professor of Management in the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also Director of the Wharton Center for Health Management & Economics, and Co-Director of the Roy & Diana Vagelos Program in Life Sciences and Management. Dr. Burns taught previously in the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago and the College of Business Administration at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Burns teaches courses on healthcare strategy, strategic change, strategic implementation, organization and management, managed care, and integrated delivery networks. She uses her experience in serving on the Emory Rollins school of Public Health Advisory board and adjunct professor in the Informatics Master’s program, as a leader in international supply chain immunization projects in developing countries, and as a presenter to the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland on special topics to influence her partnerships and customer experiences in the North American healthcare market.
